About Me

Hey hey!

My name is Macy O’Malley. I’m a polyglot from Wisconsin, USA currently based in Utrecht, Netherlands. I am obsessed with language structure, evolution, and assimilation. I love foreign language and, in addition to English, I speak Dutch, Spanish, and Italian.

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Economics from the University of Wisconsin—Madison and since have worked as a writer, project manager, UI/UX designer, business analyst, brand strategist, and more.

With the acute awareness of how tiny tweaks in phrasing can transform the rhetoric of any message, I play with words to craft a story that piques someone’s interest, reaches an intended audience, or causes deeper thinking on a topic.

I bring a creative and curious approach to my work, always trying to find the best angle to approach a problem or question. I value transparency and am a direct, straightforward communicator.

With experience in technical writing, business pragmatics, and both corporate and startup environments, I am adaptable, curious, and not afraid to ask questions. I am known to be a connector across teams capable of navigating complex projects, often concurrently.

In my free time I enjoy yoga, cooking, tennis, and throwing clay on the potter’s wheel.
